Dataset description

The soil assumes important functions in the natural balance, serves as a livelihood for many organisms, as a location for the production of food and stores, filters, buffers and transforms water and substances. Due to the improper use of the soil, the functions are in danger. The map “Danger of soil functions due to soil compaction” (VDBF) shows how much the functions are endangered by heavy agricultural or construction machinery, for this purpose the “location-dependent compression sensitivity” is set in relation to the structure properties of the soil. The map of the VDBF refers to the bottom depth 35 cm and is shown in 5 steps.
