Changes in groundwater levels may be associated with irreversible damage to soils and ecosystems. Particularly sensitive to groundwater sinks are those soils whose functions depend on a high groundwater level, such as moors, wet and auengleys, as well as groundwater-affected soils, e.g. Gleye and veneered soils. Soils with wet and extremely moist properties are filtered from the evaluations of the soil part function habitat and livelihood and are presented as soils with “sensitivity in drying”.
