Dataset description

The INSPIRE Download Service makes it possible to download characteristic values of water movement as well as water retention and wetting conditions. The content was designed for scale 1: 300,000 created and are larger for representations in scales 1: 100,000 are not suitable. Water movement and water binding: The service is based on the legend units of the soil overview map with corresponding assignment of parameterised surface soil shapes. These represent a soil form society for each legend unit. The individual (area) soil shapes were assigned with parameters determined by terrain and laboratory tests. For this purpose, the corresponding parameters were statistically derived for the same horizontal-substrate combinations (usually the median value). In the case of insufficient data, because of the better consistency of the derived values with measured data from the characteristics tables of the soil history carting instructions, 3 rd edition, Hannover 1982 (AG Soil Science) on water binding, tab. 43 was used using the link rule 1.11 (method documentation Soil Science, Hennings et al 2000) and for water movement, Tab. 49 using the link rule 1.12 (dito). Wetting ratios: The service is based on the legend units of the floor overview map. These are soil forming societies. The enumerated (area) soil forms were assessed according to their statement on soil water conditions. This was done primarily on the basis of the ground-systematic units involved. These units provided the statement on the degree of wetting and the proportions of land for distribution. In the case of groundwater soils, the degree of soaking depends on the depth of the groundwater level in the soil area up to a maximum of 2 m below hallway and in the case of dam-water soils according to the intensity or duration of the soil’s precipitation and obstructed leachate.
