Soils worthy of protection in Lower Saxony 1: 50 000 — Rare floors (WMS service)

Soils that are particularly worthy of protection include soils whose natural functions and their archival function are essentially preserved. Damage to these functions is to be avoided under soil protection law (cf. §1 BBodSchG). In relation to a spatially defined totality, rare soils have only a small area-like distribution or are peculiarities. Soils that have rare properties or characteristics due to unusual combinations of site conditions (initial rock, climate, relief) are considered rare. The methods for determining the protection of soils in Lower Saxony are detailed in Bug et al. (2019) described. The basis of the evaluations is the soil map of Lower Saxony 1: 50 000 (BK50).
