Dataset description

The data set contains the circumferential polygons of a total of 164 Tempo-30 zones in the Wuppertal city area. It was produced between 08/2008 and 09/2008 by the “Roads and Transport” department in a concerted action by digitising the existing analog files and plans, in particular the traffic regulations. The “URL” attribute contains a hyperlink to a PDF overview plan for each zone with all traffic calming measures in that zone. The digital base card DGK was used as a map for the construction of the circumferential polygons of the Tempo-30 zones. The data base is subject to very rare changes, as the potential areas for the designation of tempo 30 zones have been exhausted for several years. Changes to the Tempo 30 zones are initiated by the Roads and Transport Department, which will notify such changes to the data-leading department of surveying, cadastral office and spatial data in a timely manner. There, the dataset is updated with a geoinformation system. Since the beginning of 2016, the official base card ABK has been used as a digitalisation basis. The ESRI shape files, KML and GeoJSON files provided as open data are updated weekly in an automated process.
