WFK — Forest function maps

The task of forest function mapping is to capture the prominent protective and recreational functions of the forest, which are particularly important for the common good, to define and map them spatially. The results of forest function mapping are published in North Rhine-Westphalia mainly in topographic maps on a scale of 1:50 000. In the compaction areas, the scale of 1:25 000 was used. The forest function map is available throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. The forest function map includes a booklet “General Explanations”, in which the mapped forest functions are described in general and their cartographic representation. In addition, special explanatory reports were drawn up for the administrative areas of the Lower Forest Authorities or sub-areas of the same. It explains details of the map content. In addition, area overviews of the individual functions are given absolute and percentage. Additional information The mapbook contains 108 sheets.
