Dataset description

Web Map Servise (WMS) with the air readings — Halm — in Hamburg. The Hamburg Air Measurement Network (Halm) * operates 15 air quality monitoring stations * differentiates between background, ozone and traffic measurement stations * continuously measures in accordance with EU directives and the Federal Immission Protection Act The background measurement stations are used for general air monitoring. They record the pollutant components sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and suspended dust (PM10: Particles less than 10 microns and particulate matter PM2.5: Particles less than 2.5 microns). One station also measures carbon monoxide (CO). In addition to ozone (O3), the ozone measurement stations also detect NO2 and NO loads. At the traffic measurement stations, the typical pollutants NO, NO2 and particulate matter PM10 and particulate matter PM2.5 and partly benzene and CO are measured. The measurements take place continuously in accordance with EU directives and the Federal Immission Protection Act and fulfil the following tasks/purposes: * Measurements according to the EU guidelines for particulate matter PM10/PM2.5, sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), benzene, carbon monoxide (CO) and ozone (O3), implemented in the 39th Ordinance to the Federal Emissions Protection Act (39. BImSchV) * Ozone warning and information service * Information to the public * Provision of data for emission protection permits * Compilation of data time series to determine stress trends * general monitoring of air quality in accordance with the Fourth General Administrative Regulation of the Federal Immission Protection Act After an automatic and manual plausibility check, the measurement data is stored in a database and can be evaluated at the headquarters of the Hamburg air measurement network with various software tools. Current hourly values are made available to the public via video text (Norddeutscher Rundfunk NDR page 678, Hamburg1 page 155) and Internet (http://luft.hamburg.de). In addition, the website contains summarised and historical data, characterisations of the measuring stations and further content explanations.
