WMS Land Cover Model for Germany 2012

Digital Land Cover Model for the Federal Republic of Germany as of 2012. The LBM-DE (until 2012 DLM-DE) contains land cover information within the meaning of the CORINE Land Cover (CLC) European nomenclature. The data base of the LBM-DE is based on selected surface-like object types of the ATKIS® Basic DLM from the areas of settlement, traffic, vegetation and water bodies, which have been adapted in modified form to the specific requirements of CLC. The minimum carting area of the data set shall be 1 hectare. Using multitemporal satellite image data (main basis: RapidEye 5 m ground pixel resolution, 5 channels) the dataset has been updated since its comprehensive initial recording in 2009 at the rhythm of three years to the respective reference year. Since 2012, land cover and land use have been separately recorded, followed by automatic transformation into the CLC nomenclature. While land cover is recorded using image data, the ATKIS® base DLM of the respective reference year serves as a source of information for the aspect of land use. The service is provided exclusively to federal authorities.
