Dataset description

A digital, three-dimensional survey model of the geological subsurface of Baden-Württemberg was created at the LGRB in 2005 and 2006 (3D country model). In addition to the main lithostratigraphic units, it shows cross-regional fracture structures, young volcanic formations such as impact craters. The thickness distributions and layer storage maps derived from the 3D land model provide an overview of the primary and residual powers of late Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic units and their current spatial location. In addition to a selection of document points (holes, diggings), today’s spread and distribution on a scale of 1:500 000 are shown. Further information: https://lgrb-bw.de/geologie
