Dataset description

The data set includes the currently used wooden deportation routes in the state forest of the Free State of Saxony, which have been recorded in the course of the NavLog project since March 2007. Wood removal routes are transport and return routes that are used in the harvesting of wood. They are divided into the categories Main Disposal Path, Disposal Path, Side Disposal Path and Connecting Way. Information on road width, light space profile, slope, construction (binding agent-free, concrete, asphalt) and condition of the path surface (good, sufficient, poor) is provided for each wood removal pathway. In addition, the routes are classified in terms of their accessibility in summer and winter, as well as by wetness and frost periods. The NavLog project as a joint project of the forestry and timber industry aims to create a uniform database of navigational data across the whole country via the sewer network of all forest species. The data is used in the exit path map, scale 1:25,000.
