Dataset description

The ATOM Feed Download Service for the central supply areas in Wuppertal provides a dataset for download, which includes, on the one hand, the delimitations of the areas to the city of Wuppertal’s centre and location structure (2 main centers, 4 secondary centres and 7 local supply centres as well as 4 urban areas integrated in urban areas and 11 decentralised, auto-customer-oriented special locations), on the other hand the potential areas for the retail sector (8 restructuring areas within central supply areas (ZVB) and 7 potential expansion areas of the ZVB). These land allocations are an essential part of the "1. Update 2020" of the “Retail and Center Concept Wuppertal” (EZK), which was developed in 2019 and 2020 on behalf of the City of Wuppertal by the Cologne company “Gesellschaft für Markt und Vertriebforschung mbH (GMA)” and adopted on 24 June 2020 by the Council of the City of Wuppertal as a community development concept in accordance with §1 (6) No. 11 of the Building Code (cf. printed matter VO/0197/20/1.Neuf.). The GMA carried out a full survey of retail areas and assortments in the city area of Wuppertal in July and August 2019 as a basis for the definition of the above-mentioned land. The areas for the center and location structure were digitised as well as the reorganisation areas. The expansion areas, on the other hand, were not digitised in curd-piece sharpness on the basis of a large-scale topographic map. The 1st Continuation of the ECC is an update and extension of the 2015 ECC, also prepared by the GMA, which was adopted by the above Council Decision by 1. Update has been replaced. The next review of the ECC and, where appropriate, its 2. Update is planned for 2025. The data set provided by the download service is available in Shape, KML and GeoJSON format under an open data license (CC BY 4.0).
