Activity rates by sex and age groups

Definition: The unemployment rate reflects the percentage of unemployed aged 15 to less than 65 years of age in the labour force (employed and unemployed together). For the definition of the unemployed according to the ILO concept, see indicator 11.1. Note: On 1 January 2005, the survey concept was switched from a defined reference week to a continuous survey throughout the year. Annual averages shall be reported from 2005 onwards. However, the figures for the years before 2005 refer to a fixed reference week in March, April or May. Note on the revision of the results for 2011 and 2012: The extrapolation framework for the microcensus has been changed: Until the 2010 survey year, the extrapolation is based on the updated results of the 1987 census, from 2011 onwards on the updated results of the 2011 census.
