The data set describes the average living space in square meters per family member in families or forms of life with children under 18 years of age by immigration status and gender. Under immigration status, the migration background, as well as the distinction according to German (citizens/Aussiedlers) and non-German (including separately persons of Turkish nationality) are recorded. It should be borne in mind that people with a migrant background are more likely to live in cities and large cities. In general, the ownership rate is lower than in rural areas. This has an impact on the available living space. The indicator is recorded every 4 years.
