As of 31.5.2017 On 1 January 1998, the newly founded KölnBäder GmbH took over the operation of the municipal baths in Cologne. Today, with a total of 13 attractive swimming pools, seven varied saunas, two modern fitness areas and a Europe-wide unique ice arena with a spectacular ice-highway, the company offers a wide range of leisure activities for citizens — from Müngersdorf to Vingst and from Chorweiler to Zündorf. 74 percent of the shareholders are Stadtwerke Köln GmbH and 26 percent are the City of Cologne. The company has around 260 employees. The aim of KölnBäder GmbH is to further expand the framework conditions for the development of indoor, combined and outdoor swimming pools to modern sports and leisure facilities. CologneBäder GmbH has contractually committed itself to guarantee an affordable swimming offer for all Cologne citizens and to promote school and club sports.
