Biosphere Reserves (BSR)

Digital countrywide overview map: The geometries with attributes such as name, size, in crates, etc., of the biosphere reserve protected by law of 23.11.2002 were digitised on the basis of the digital topographic map 1:25,000. The Biosphere Reserve of Lower Saxony’s Elbtalaue extends over 90 kilometres of electricity from Schnackenburg to Hohnstorf near Lauenburg. It has a total size of around 57,660 hectares. Around 34,010 hectares have been declared an EU bird sanctuary within the area.
