The data sets describe the distribution of the weight groups according to BMI percentiles in the children examined for school enrolment for the reporting districts and district-free cities in North Rhine-Westphalia. These were recorded both in absolute and percentage terms with regard to the total number of students examined. There was a distinction between male and female. Furthermore, the distribution of weight groups by BMI percentiles is recorded over time for North Rhine-Westphalia as a whole.
