Childcare places by time of care — Educational monitoring 2012 to 2017

The data set contains data on childcare places according to care periods from the monitoring report on the educational situation for the state capital Düsseldorf. According to the Children’s Education Act NRW (KiBiz), parents can choose between different childcare periods: 25 hours, 35 hours and 45 hours. These times are not freely selectable, but are tied to fixed opening hours of the children’s day facilities. Private commercial offers are not included in the presentation. The focus of the monitoring report is on early childhood education, formal education, vocational education and training as well as the educational situation of newly immigrant pupils, which has become more important as a result of the strong international migration of 2015 and 2016. The report excludes the area of non-formal education, e.g. through family education centres or adult education institutions.
