Circle Viersen historical — original maps and pure maps

Around 1825, the first cadastral maps — so-called original maps — were created in the area of today’s Kreis Viersen. For each settlement — more precisely every area — an overview map (“ueb” in the file name) and numerous detailed maps (usually one per hallway, some also with side pages) were made. All of these approximately 1200 original cards of the Kreis Viersen are available as OpenData in different formats: ● all cards in pdf format ● all cards in jpg format ● the overview map of the mark (“ueb” in the file name) also as georeferenced file in the format jp2 (folder jpeg2000) From about 1860 the pure cards were created. These are ab/high drawings of the map with continuations and extend partly until 1955 (1900 to ca. 1930 = RE; 1930-1955 = REN). The pure cards are currently only available in PDF format. The maps and maps cover the area of the towns and municipalities of Bruges, Grefrath, Kempen, Nettetal, Niederkrüchten, Schwalmtal, Tönisvorst, Viersen and Willich.
