Corona case numbers Wuppertal

The data set “Corona Case Numbers Wuppertal” includes a zip archive with five daily updated text files on the corona infection numbers in the city of Wuppertal. The data is automatically aggregated from the specialist system “Corona Stadt Monitor (CSM)” of the Wuppertal health office. The CSM is an in-house development of the city of Wuppertal. The volume of statistically collected data has been gradually expanded during the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, the daily data recording in the individual files starts at different times: (1) Total number of people who died in or with COVID-19 from 01.02.2020 (VERSTORBEN.txt), (2) Number of infected persons from 11.03.2020 (POSITIVE.txt), (3) Seven-day incidence value from 13.11.2020 (INZIDENZWERTE.txt), (4) Total number of persons in quarantine from 23.03.2021 (QUARANTAENE.txt), (5) Infection reports from the Wuppertal Schools from 11.10.2021 (SCHULEN.txt). The schools do not report infection numbers to the health office on Sundays and public holidays. Therefore, the SCHULEN.txt file does not contain any data for these days. For a quick overview, the City of Wuppertal provides interactive data visualisation elements (dashboard, case number graphics) which have also been integrated into the city’s homepage. The dataset is under an open data license (CC BY 4.0).
