Dataset description

The monthly time series represents the development of the average stock of large freight vehicles registered in Germany. These are the trucks contained in the Central Vehicle Register (ZFZR) of the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), whose payload exceeds 3.5 tonnes, as well as all tractor units. The vehicle inventory is determined on the 15th of each month. The legal basis for the census is the requirement of the Transport Statistics Act (VerkStatG) for the production of road haulage statistics
