Differences in earnings between women and men (unadjusted gender pay gap) by country

The data set contains the percentage difference in the average gross hourly earnings of women and men. The gender pay gap is calculated from the difference in average gross hourly earnings (excluding special payments) of men and women in relation to the gross hourly earnings of men. The calculation includes dependent employment relationships of all economic sections and sizes, with the exception of ‘agriculture, forestry, fisheries’, ‘public administration, defence, social security’, ‘private households with domestic staff’ and ‘Exterritorial organisations and bodies’ and holdings with fewer than ten employees. This corresponds to the uniform definition of the gender pay gap of the European Union. The so-called unadjusted gender pay gap is considered here, which does not take into account various causes of wage difference. The figures for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 have been revised. The figures for 2019 and 2020 should be considered provisional.
