Dataset description

**Responsible habitat types**: The EU has defined in the Habitats Directive certain habitats that each Member State receives or, if necessary, have to restore. These habitat types (LRTs) occur in different natural regions of the EU. these are called biogeographical regions. In Germany there are three such regions: the Atlantic, Continental and Alpine regions. Within these regions, there are major distribution areas for some habitat types. If a country has a particularly high proportion of a habitat type, it is highly responsible maintain or restore this habitat type. These habitat types are then called responsibility habitat types. Each of the 231 habitat types has a Europe-wide unique EU code (four-digit number or letter combination as defined in Annex I to the Habitats Directive). Included are distribution maps for the following LRTs: — 1140 vegetation-free wattage — 1160 sea arms and bays — 1170 reefs — 1210 One-year flushing lines — 1220 Multi-year vegetation of the pebble beaches — 1230 Rock/Slope coasts — 1310 watts of source — 1320 Schlickgrass Stocks — 1330 Salt meadows — 2110 Primary dunes — 2120 White dunes — 2140 Dunes with crowberry heath — 2150 dunes with broom heath — 2170 dunes with creeping pastures — 2190 Moist Thin Valleys — 2320 Inland dunes with crowberry — 6410 Pipe grass meadows — 6430 Humid high-congestion corridors — 6440 Brenndolden @-@ Auenwiesen — 6510 Magere Flachland @-@ Mähwiesen — 7120 renaturable degrading high bogs — 7140 Transition/swing grass bogs — 7230 Lime-rich low bogs Measurement scale: 1:5.000 The underlying spatial data can be found in the [Biotope mapping](https://opendata.schleswig-holstein.de/dataset/biotopkartierung) dataset. The **background map** of the distribution cards of the LRT is always identical and represents the following for orientation: — the external borders of the state of Schleswig-Holstein as well as the district borders as grey lines — the border of the biogeographical regions in north-south orientation as a dark grey line — the land area — white — with different gray colors for march, higher and lower geest — the sea areas, lakes and flowing waters — landscaped in blue — the built-up areas of larger cities — landscaped in dark grey — the areas of the respective protective property — landscaped in green ## Comments The maps represent the level of knowledge of the distributions of the respective LRTs under the Habitats Directive at the time of completion of the national biotope mapping 2014-2020. The maps are used to visualise the area distribution in Schleswig-Holstein. In order to improve visibility, the surfaces have been enlarged. The areas shown therefore do not correspond to the real area size of the biotopes.
