Dataset description

Definition: The maximum Z (zmax)/minimum Z (zmin) denotes the highest/lowest in the bathymetric models at one point over the entire project period. Data generation: The basis for bathymetric products are gridded bathymetric models, which are created using the Functional Ground Model, a data-based hindcast simulation model, via spatial-time interpolation methods from a database of sea and land surveys of various data types. For each year from 1996 to inclusive 2016, a gridded bathymetric model in 10 m resolution for the German Bay and in addition in 250 m resolution for the Exclusive Economic Zone for the year 1996 is produced. For the German Bay, the maximum Z/minimum Z for each grid node is calculated by calculating the highest or lowest z-value over 21 years of viewing space from the bathymetric models. This zmax or zmin value is displayed at each point. Since it is an evaluation of several time steps, the maximum Z/minimum Z cannot be determined for the Exclusive Economic Zone. Product: 10 m grid of the German Bay, where on each grid node the zmax or zmin value is stored over the period 1996 to 2016. The product is provided in GeoTiff format.
