Employment rates by gender and migration status

The employment ratio describes the number of persons aged 15 to under 65 per 100 persons of the corresponding population. This statistic shows the share of employees in North Rhine-Westphalia compared to Germany and West Germany. Further key data are the distinction between gender and existing migration background. According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Labour Force concept, workers are all persons aged 15 or more who have worked for at least one hour in the reporting week against pay (wage, salary) or as self-employed or assisting family members or are in an apprenticeship relationship. It does not matter whether the activity is a regular or only occasional activity.
