The data set contains data on EU funding flown to Düsseldorf. The data comes from various ministries and has been prepared by the Office for International and European Affairs and concerns the funding period 2014-2019.
The Europe Direct Information Office of the state capital Düsseldorf is at your disposal for questions about the European Union. Information material, information for citizens, dialogue events, workshops, simulation games, study trips — all this and more offers Europe Direct.
The data on the funding received to Düsseldorf constitute a representative selection of EU funds and action programmes and therefore cannot give an exhaustive overview of all EU third-party funds. The selection includes all funds from the Structural Funds European Social Fund in NRW (ESF NRW) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF NRW), which had a funding amount of more than EUR 100,000. In addition, funds from the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme are included, as well as individual actions supported by European Territorial Cooperation (e.g. Interreg) and other action programmes.
The raw data on ESF NRW and ERDF NRW come from the lists published by the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs (MAGS NRW) and the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitisation and Energy (MWIDE NRW) of the projects funded in the 2014-2020 funding period. The status of the lists was the files freely available at the time of the creation of the interactive map: 26.03.2019 (ERDF) and 01.04.2019 (ESF). The territorial names are limited to cities, so that the addresses or places of implementation have been determined retrospectively. The funding amount was calculated according to the applicable co-financing rate.

Note on map material:
The data was reprocessed for the purpose of better presentation. As the location, the addresses of the beneficiaries deposited in the lists of projects were used or determined and subsequently reduced to beneficiaries based in Düsseldorf. Where this was possible, instead of the company headquarters, the place of implementation in the urban area was used. Subsequently, all projects were filtered out with a funding amount of more than EUR 100,000. The project names/action titles have been shortened to approximately 70 characters. Titles of beneficiaries who have carried out more than one project funded by third parties have been summarised.
