Floodplain condition — capturing, accounting and biotope evaluation Segments

The floodplains contained in the data set “Flussauen in Germany 2021” have been divided into sections of 1 km each. These 1-km exterior segments are again divided into the units River, Recent Aue and Altaue (each right and left bank in the direction of flow). These so-called compartments form the geometric basis for all evaluations on land size, land use and protected areas.
