Dataset description

The map shows the average monthly values for global radiation in kWh/m². The higher the global radiation at the site, the better it is — in principle — for the use of solar thermal or photovoltaics. However, other factors play a role, such as shading, angle of inclination of the chosen surface, statics e.g. when using systems on roof surfaces and much more. For more details, please refer to the topic section of the Energie-Atlas Bayern. The data come from the radiation and climate measurement network of the German Weather Service from 1981 to 2010.
