Dataset description
The work volume calculation provides information on the number of actual working hours of all workers who, as workers or as self-employed or as members of the family, carry out an economic acquisition activity. This includes hours worked by persons with several simultaneous employment relationships. On the other hand, the work volume does not include paid but unworked hours of work, such as annual leave, parental leave, public holidays, short-term work or absence due to illness. Also disregarded are the unpaid breaks as well as the time to travel between the apartment and the workplace. The volume of work therefore includes the total number of hours actually worked during the reporting period at the respective place of work of workers and self-employed persons within a region. It does not take into account the intensity or quality of the work done. The volume of work results as a product of the number of persons employed and working hours per worker.
