Dataset description

In the district of Recklinghausen there are about 172 hunting districts, which are divided into so-called community hunting districts and self-hunting districts. In addition, additional information about the hunting district and the person authorised to engage in hunting is available to authorised users. Areas in which hunting may be carried out are either self-hunting districts or community hunting districts. On ground areas that belong to no hunting district, and in pacified districts, hunting rests. A limited pursuit of hunting may be permitted if the necessity arises and all safety aspects can be respected. Self-hunting districts are contiguous base areas with an agricultural, forestry or fishing area of at least 75 hectares owned by the same person or group of persons. Community hunting districts are formed when the base area of a municipality which does not belong to a self-hunting district comprises at least 150 hectares. The owners of the bases belonging to a community hunting district form a hunting cooperative. Owners of ground areas on which hunting may not be carried out do not belong to the hunting cooperative. The hunting right allows the person entitled to practise hunting in his area to keep wild animals subject to the hunting right, to pursue hunting on them and to acquire them. Hunting law is associated with the duty of hege. The aim of the Hege is to preserve a species-rich and healthy wild population adapted to the landscape and landscapes as well as the maintenance and safeguarding of its livelihoods.
