Dataset description

The Hydrogeological Overview Map of Germany (HÜK250) describes hydrogeological properties of the upper, large-scale aquifers in Germany on a scale of 1:250,000. In addition to lithology, stratigraphy and conductor character, five hydrogeological attributes are recorded, which are represented in the themed maps of solidification, rock type, type of cavity, permeability and geochemical rock type. The respective classifications and classifications are based, among other things, on the hydrogeological carting instructions of the State Geological Services (SGD) from 1997. The HÜK250 is a digital map work. The HÜK250 is a joint project of the SGD under the auspices of the BGR, which was launched in 2000 as the HÜK200 on the occasion of the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive (EU-WRRL). The basis was obtained from the Geological Survey Map 1:200,000 (GÜK 200) on lithology, stratigraphy and genesis, as well as regional maps and expertise of the SGD. In the course of the project, cross-border hydrogeological information was developed nationwide and finally made available digitally with a uniform general legend. In 2019, scale migration took place from 1:200,000 to 1:250,000.
