Dataset description
The Engineering Geological Map 1: 25 000 usually consists of two card sheets and usually has corresponding short explanations. The main map combines near-surface looser and solid rocks according to composition and thickness into engineering geological units with the same or similar geotechnical properties. On secondary maps, the rocks below the quaternary base and the thickness of the quaternary layers, the groundwater equals, the corridor distance of the groundwater, the groundwater level corridor lines and the holes considered in the map are shown. In combination with the map representations, 25-fold increments convey a three-dimensional image of the layer structure. A table with rock physical characteristics and diagrams with grain size distributions provide information about the geotechnical properties of the soil species. The accompanying brief explanatory notes provide additional information on the map contents, a geological and hydrogeological overview, descriptions of the geotechnical and soil mechanical properties of the layers, as well as applications for planning questions and references to technical regulations (standards). The printed sheets are also available as image files in TIF, JPEG or PDF format (not georeferenced) as well as in TIF, or JPEG format (georeferented).
