Income wealth thresholds based on average monthly net household income

Definition: The income wealth threshold is the income value above which income wealth can be referred to. The income wealth threshold is drawn at 200 % of the arithmetic average of the monthly equivalised income of the North Rhine-Westphalian population. The new OECD scale is used to determine equivalised incomes. Note: In the income and consumption sample, wealthy and income-rich people are underrepresented, as households with a monthly net household income of EUR 18,000 or more are not included in the sample. Thus, the wealthy are considered rather than top earners or wealthy. This restriction must be accepted because the sample of income and consumption is the only available source of data that can be used to carry out country-level analyses on the link between income wealth and wealth.
