Dataset description
The BÜK2000, version 1.0 was originally derived from the BÜK1000 as a basis for the hydrological atlas of Germany (HAD) and, in combination with an accompanying text, selected photos and soil profile images, forms the panel 1.3 in the HAD. The parameters of the BÜK1000 were incorporated into the text legends, which were grouped to 60 units. In the course of the cartographic generalisation, polygons, which fell below a specified minimum area size, were assigned to the neighbouring areas with the lowest content contrast. Taking into account the proportion of foreign areas, summaries of several polygons with the same content were also carried out. The present version 2.0 is based on the current BÜK2000N, version 2.3 and has been mapped to a new map base.
