Land Map of the Federal Republic of Germany 1:250,000

The soil overview map 1:250,000 (BÜK250) provides a detailed, uniform and comprehensive information basis for countries on land use and soil protection in Germany and Europe. It is based on the BÜK200, which is compiled by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Raw Materials (BGR) in cooperation with the State Geological Services (SGD) of the federal states in the sheet section of the topographic overview map 1:200,000 (TÜK200) and published in 55 individual map sheets. The distribution and socialisation of the soils is (currently still) described by leaf-specific legend units (divided by soil regions and large soil landscapes) of the BÜK200. Each legend unit contains soil systematic information (floor subtype) and information on the ground exit rock for both the guide floors and their companions. The BÜK200’s preliminary material database can be downloaded free of charge via the BGR product centre. The map is based on the Digital Landscape Model 1:250,000 (DLM250) of the Federal Office for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) as of 31.12.2014 (2014_12_31_UTMGRS80, dlm250-aaa_ebenen). This includes the national territory of Germany, the wadding surfaces, sandbanks, the foreland of the dike and the coastal areas on the North Sea, as well as the water areas.
