Dataset description

Members of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament are elected in the parliamentary elections. The election will take place on 14 May 2017. Who is German or German on election day within the meaning of Article 116(1) of the Basic Law, who has reached the age of 18 and has his/her residence in North Rhine-Westphalia at least the 16th day before the election, has his main residence in several apartments or usually resides and does not have an apartment outside the country. The results can be retrieved continuously and currently in a standardised format from this web server on the evening of the election, e.g. to be automatically processed. An authority may set up different territorial levels to present the election results, from the lowest level (voting districts) to constituencies and districts to the level of the city or municipality, district and constituency. However, not all levels are necessary for each type of election. For each of the territorial levels that an authority has set up, there is a file containing the overview of those areas with fast messages already received. The following files are available for the city of Cologne on election evening: The files are encoded in UTF-8. By default, Excel does not display the umlauts in the files correctly. You can avoid this as follows: Excel 2003 Select from the menu ‘Data’ -> ‘Import external data’ from the menu item ‘Import data’. The ‘Select data source’ dialog opens. Select the file you want to open and press the ‘Open’ button. Then place the file origin to '65001 Unicode: (UTF-8)' fixed and continue with the ‘Next’ button. In the next dialog, set the separator to ‘Semicolon’ instead of ‘Tabstopp’ and continue with the ‘Next’ button again. They then select the ‘Text’ option as the data format of the columns and exit the wizard with the ‘Finish’ switch area. Use the ‘OK’ button to finish the procedure and the data is displayed UTF-8 encoded in Microsoft Excel. Excel 2010 From the tab ‘Data’ in the section ‘Retrieve external data’, select the option ‘From text’. The dialog ‘Import text file’ opens. They then select the ‘Text’ option as the data format of the columns and exit the wizard with the ‘Finish’ button. Use the ‘OK’ button to finish the procedure and the data is displayed UTF-8 encoded in Microsoft Excel. The following fields are available in the file (fields for second votes, of course, only with appropriate options): Number: Constituency number) Name: (Name of constituency) MaxQuick Messages: (maximum number of quick messages) AnzQuick Messages: (Number of fast messages already recorded) Eligible voters: (Number of eligible voters) filed under: (Number of ballot papers) Turnout: (Election participations in the respective view levels) valid Voting List: (Number of valid ballot papers) valid: (Number of valid first votes) invalid Voting List: (Number of invalid ballot papers) invalid: (Number of invalid first votes) valid2: (Number of valid second votes) invalid2: (Number of invalid second votes) In addition, the following fields are available for each party (example of one party called ‘A-Party’ — fields for second votes of course only in appropriate elections): A Party A-Party_Proz Z_A Party Z_A-Partei_Proz Select Level File Name Landtag Election Municipality Landtag Election_NRW373.csv Constituency Landtag Elections_NRW3710.csv Landtag Election City District State Election_NRW378.csv District Landtag Election_NRW3711.csv State Parliament elections Voting district Landtag election_NRW376.csv HTML code for integrating a mini-graphic of the overall result into a homepage Choice HTML code (pattern) Election of Landtag (First part) <iframe src=‘http://wahlen.stadt-koeln.de/prod/LTW2017/05315000/html5/LandtagswahlErg...’ frameborder=0 hspace=0 vspace=0 marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 scrolling=no width=500 height=400 frameborder=0> &/iframe> Election of Landtag (Second part) <iframe src=‘http://wahlen.stadt-koeln.de/prod/LTW2017/05315000/html5/LandtagswahlErg...’ frameborder=0 hspace=0 vspace=0 marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 scrolling=no width=500 height=400 frameborder=0> &/iframe>
