Dataset description

The data set covers the spatial scopes of all the city of Wuppertal’s monument area statutes according to §5 Monument Protection Act NRW (DSchG NRW), constructed on the basis of the digital property map based on the contents of the articles of association (plan plants and location descriptions). As of 03/2017 there is only one legally binding monument area statute in Wuppertal, namely the one for the Zoo district. There are two other procedures for the establishment of monument areas (local cores Cronenberg and Beyenburg), the conclusion of which is not yet foreseeable. A continuation of the database must take place only after one of these two procedures has been completed. The factual attributes on the scope polygons include a place name, the procedural status, the official name of the articles of association and a hyperlink to the digital articles of association. The dataset is available under an open data license (CC BY-ND 4.0) with the exclusion of data modification. According to the AG Geokom.NRW of the leading municipal associations in NRW and the state of NRW, there is a statutory publication obligation for the monument area statutes in accordance with the requirements of the INSPIRE Directive and the Geodata Access Act NRW. In the recommendation for action of this WG, the monument area statutes are assigned to the topic of “protected areas” in Annex I to the Directive.
