Dataset description

This data set contains the geocoordinates, names, addresses and (if available) the websites of the Give boxes and public bookshelves in Münster. What are Give Boxes? A public bookcase is a closet or closet-like storage place with books designed to offer books free of charge, anonymously and without any formalities for exchange or taking away. The same goes for "Giveboxes: In a “Givebox”, not only books, but any items that are no longer needed, can be stored. Examples are: Clothing, media, toys, dishes or decorative items.Information about this dataset The installation of give boxes or bookcases on publicly accessible private spaces is accompanied by some obligations on the part of the exhibitor, but is not subject to authorisation. Therefore, there is no central register of such institutions in the city administration. However, we support the re-use of used items for waste prevention and have therefore compiled this list, as well as on the basis of requests from the city society. The list represents the status of mid-2020. Not all sites have been verified. On the date, you can see if and when a location has been verified in the “on-site confirmed on” column. Help keep this record up to date We try to always reflect the current state of play in this dataset. Since information about new Give boxes or changes to existing Give boxes is disseminated via a wide variety of media, we depend on your help. If you know more locations or know anything about changes at the existing locations, please let us know so that we can keep the record up to date with your help. You can reach the Open Data Coordination Münster at the email address [email protected].
