*Short description Naturalisation statistics show annually the number of naturalised persons by age, gender, previous nationality and duration of residence. The data is determined by the naturalisation authorities. The regional proof of naturalisation cases refers to the place of residence of the naturalised person at the time of naturalisation. The statistics refer to those persons who acquired German citizenship through naturalisation in the course of the reporting year. The acquisition of German nationality by birth of children of foreign parents born in Germany (according to § 4(3) StAG) is not included in the data. The results are made available annually up to the municipal level. The quality report provides information on methods and definitions as well as the quality of the results of a statistics. It is available for free download on the website of the Federal Statistical Office.
