Dataset description

Nature reserves (§ 23 BNatSchG) serve in particular the conservation, development and restoration of habitats and the associated wild fauna and plant species, in which all destruction, alteration or impairment is excluded. Uses are only permitted to the extent that they do not conflict with the purpose of protection. The data set covers only the nature reserves in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The datasets for HELCOM and OSPAR can be created by filtering the attribute HELCOM_OSP from the dataset Nature Reserves of the EEZ.
