The data set contains figures on newly immigrant pupils by nationality at general education schools from the monitoring report on the educational situation for the state capital Düsseldorf. The number of children and adolescents with a nationality, which in the respective school years has ranked at least once among the ten most common foreign nationalities, is presented.
The focus of the monitoring report is on early childhood education, formal education, vocational education and training as well as the educational situation of newly immigrant pupils, which has become more important as a result of the strong international migration of 2015 and 2016. The report excludes the area of non-formal education, e.g. through family education centres or adult education institutions.
