Online Dialogue National Decade Against Cancer

In Germany, cancers are the second most common cause of death, making it the most feared disease in our society. For this reason, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, together with the Federal Ministry of Health and many other partners, has launched the National Decade Against Cancer, which has been set up for ten years. A major concern of the National Decade against Cancer is to involve and involve the population in cancer research. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research therefore called for “Everyone is Xperte” in the period from 15 November to 15. December 2019 on the online dialogue of the National Decade Against Cancer. Taking into account the needs and views of citizens, and relevant actors are the basis for a successful transfer of new findings from research into medical practice. The first nationwide online dialogue of the National Decade against Cancer was aimed at asking the needs and perspectives of citizens and stakeholders. During the four-week period, experts from science/research and care as well as the interested public, patients or relatives were able to participate in two different surveys. The online dialogue was a non-representative format in which a total of 3,037 people participated voluntarily.
