Dataset description
Potentially eligible population at the place of the main dwelling
in the Bundestag and Landtag elections: Population at the place of the main residence with German nationality at the age of 18 or more
in local elections: Population at the place of the main residence with German nationality or a nationality of a State of the European Union aged 16 or more. As of 2020, without persons with a nationality from the UK.
Other criteria such as exclusions of elections or duration of residence cannot be taken into account.
As a result, the number of potential voters differs from the actual number of eligible voters according to the electoral roll.
