Dataset description

Gieß den Kiez is a project of CityLAB Berlin designed to protect the Berlin city trees from drying. On a map, more than 625,000 street and plant trees of Berlin are visualised. Using the web app, you can explore, adopt and irrigate trees on www.giessdenkiez.de to log and improve coordination of urban society’s irrigation services. Here you will find data on the use of the website giessdenkiez.de. These are, on the one hand, the KPI’s (key performance indicators) such as the number of users, the number of adopted trees and other, but also data on all irrigations collected via the website. During the growing season (01.03. to 30.09.) the data will be updated regularly at the beginning of a month. Pouring the neighborhood went online at the end of May 2020. All tree points visualised in the app come from the official tree cadastre of the city of Berlin (https://daten.berlin.de/datensaetze/baumbestand-berlin-straßenbäume-wfs). The tree cadastre is published annually by the competent office, the Green Area Information System (GRIS), on the basis of the surveys of the twelve district green space offices in the Open Data Portal and clearly identifies each tree via the technical key. The data published here have as a key attribute this ID, so that the trees cast in casting the neighborhood can be clearly assigned to the trees of the tree cadastre in order to obtain more information about the trees.
