Dataset description

Preventing corruption is a prerequisite for a functioning, efficient and rule of law administration that trusts citizens. The Federal Government is accountable to the German Bundestag for the implementation of the Federal Government’s Directive on the prevention of corruption of 30 July 2004 (the Directive) by showing the practical measures to prevent corruption and the suspected cases of corruption. On the basis of several decisions of the Audit Committee, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI) reports annually to the Audit Committee on the development and results of corruption prevention in the federal administration. Following the discussion of the report in the Committee, the 2019 Corruption Prevention Report was published as a PDF on the BMI website and the annexed table was published as machine-readable csv files. This is the last corruption prevention report. On the recommendation of the Federal Court of Auditors, BMI proposed that in future the reports on prevention of corruption, sponsorship and the use of external persons should be brought together from the reporting year 2020 onwards and that reports on integrity in the federal administration should be grouped together. This procedural proposal was approved by the Committee on Home Affairs and Home Affairs at its 102th meeting on 7 October 2020 and by the Committee on Budgets at its 75th meeting on 28 October 2020. The report on integrity in the federal administration is due to be submitted annually by 30 September, and for the first time by 30 September 2021.
