Dataset description

Within the Copernicus programme, the European Space Agency (ESA) provides satellite data of the Sentinel missions free of charge. The LGV prepares the data for easier use quarterly. Originally, satellite data can be accessed via the national platform Code-DE (Copernicus Data and Exploitation Platform) Data base: — Sentinel @-@ 2 L2A: Multispectral, atmospherically corrected data — Georeferenced mosaic — Tile @-@ Number of tile: 25 — Tile @-@ size: 8 km x 8 km — Tile @-@ selection: Topicality and degree of cloud cover — Color representation: RGB, CIR, NDVI — Soil resolution: 10 m — Colour depth: 8 bit RGB (Red Green Blue): The band combination of red (B4), green (B3) and blue (B2) mimics human color perception. Healthy vegetation will be green, urban areas will be white/grey and water surfaces, depending on the turbidity, will be shown blue. CIR (Color Infrared): The band combination of near infrared (B8), red (B4) and green (B3) highlights the vegetation. This reflects particularly strongly due to the chlorophyll content of the plants in the near infrared range and is shown reddishly. Urban surfaces appear cyan-blue/grey and water surfaces appear dark blue. NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetation Index): The NDVI is a commonly used index used to estimate vegetation. It is calculated from the bands Near Infrared (B8) and Red (B4): NDVI = (NIR-Red)/(NIR+Red) [© contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data [2018-2021], processed on CODE-DE]
