These data describe the school situation, for example in terms of the number of pupils, the number and type of classes, the number of teachers or the training professions (professional colleges). They are the basis, for example, for the calculation of the staffing of the schools or for the financial resources of the schools. The official school data are transmitted electronically by the Bonn schools directly to the Landesbetrieb Information und Technik Nordrhein-Westfalen (IT.NRW) in Düsseldorf, where they are collected and summarised. The School Office of the City of Bonn produces a wide variety of evaluations from these data, each of which presents specific aspects and their development. Official school data are collected annually at the cut-off date of 15 October.
