Transport of European trucks (VE) — domestic transport (VE3)

The statistics “Transport of European trucks (VE)” represent international road haulage transport across German territory and complete the transport of German trucks (lorries). For this purpose, the KBA, as the national competent authority, receives aggregated and extrapolated annual data in accordance with Annex D to Commission Regulation (EC) No 6/2003 from Eurostat’s data pool. The data submitted are available at different regional level (NUTS) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council. For some countries within the scope of the Regulation, there are time gaps or early data reporting. Data collection is mostly carried out (as in Germany) as a sample survey. The basis of the evaluation of the domestic traffic of European vehicles is all journeys of all notified vehicles travelling on German territory — EXCLUSIVE of the foreign route shares of the respective journey. This also applies to transits determined via a NUTS 3-level survey. Please note the quality reports.
