Dataset description
The data set contains all publicly accessible green spaces of the City of Heidelberg, including an assessment of suitability for physical and passive activities. The attribute table contains scores that express the suitability of the green areas for carrying out 20 different activities. The scores are the result of a multi-criteria evaluation, which is found in Cakir et al. (2021) is described. The following entries were taken into account in the calculation:
— Standardised indicator values of the criteria (see https://doi.org/10.26084/IOERFDZ-DATA-DE-2021-2 )
— The weighting defined by users (see standard weights from 0 to 10 in Table 1) of the criteria.
The green space polygons were generated using an automatic approach, which was developed in Ludwig et al. (2021) is described in more detail. The formation is based on assumptions about physical barriers, in particular the road, rail, and water networks, as well as limits of certain neighbouring land use class combinations. For Heidelberg, the green space polygons were formed by a combined processing of OpenStreetmap and urban data, especially a geometry for statistical blocks, parks and green areas, playgrounds, cemeteries, small gardens and forests.
