Dataset description

The smallest demarcated hydrological level of the EC Water Framework Directive (WFD) is the water body (WK). In Lower Saxony, around 1700 water bodies are defined. A water body can consist of several water segments. In addition to the Lower Saxony waters, the Bremen and the otherwise touched waters and water bodies are also depicted. The water body characterisation and evaluation is integrated with results of the assessment of the overall ecological state/potential and the chemical state for the creation of theme maps as an attribute.
