Dataset description

A survey of Kingfisher and other riparian bird species along 6 river systems designated as Special Areas of Conservation. Geographic Coverage: Survey focussed in six main river Catchments: Barrow, Blackwater (Munster region), Boyne, Clare, Moy and Nore, all designated as Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) formed the basis for this survey. Temporal Coverage: Entire survey completed between March and early June 2010. Species Groups recorded: bird Dataset Status: Survey completed and results presented in a report: Cummins, S, Fisher, J, Gaj McKeever, R., McNaghten, L. & Crowe, O. Assessment of the distribution and Abundance of Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) and other riparian birds on eight SAC river systems in Ireland. BirdWatch Ireland report to the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow.
